David Clay


David Clay brings over 20 years of business experience to the Powersports Listings team. A graduate of the University of Texas with a BBA in Finance, the majority of David’s career has been in operational and financial management of small businesses. Within three years of graduating college, David had already realized success with two different entrepreneurial startups in the offset printing industry, both of which became worldwide industry leaders in their respective fields. In addition to taking David around the globe in support of his companies, the printing industry brought him experience in small business finance and accounting, research and development, manufacturing, patents and trademarks, and employee management. David’s experience with mergers and acquisitions also began during his tenure in the printing industry when he and his partners sold their own company to an investment group, with David being the lead negotiator and purchase contract architect. It is this experience that led David to have a love and appreciation of the mergers and acquisitions process, both from a personal and professional level, which has now transcended with him to the powersports industry. Since 2002 David has been directly involved in the ownership changes at over 10 dealerships and now brings this experience directly to the Powersports Listings team. David, as CIO, will assist clients in the preparation of their businesses for sale and will be the primary liaison with prospective buyers in aspects of due diligence and seller finances.
